SWI Group launches AI cloud unit SWI Compute with $1 billion Nvidia systems order

SWI Group, an investment group listed on Euronext Amsterdam, launched its AI compute unit SWI Compute on Oct 26 with an order for about $1 billion of Nvidia systems [1][2]. SWI Compute became a preferred Nvidia Cloud Partner in August and has contracted its first customer, a US-based AI inference platform [1]. The unit builds on 3.6 gigawatts of power capacity across 24 sites in Europe and the US that the group secured over six years [1][3].

  • The first large UK site starts at 30 megawatts with close to 7,000 Nvidia Rubin GPUs and 3,500 Vera processors [1].
  • The UK campus is planned to grow to 530 megawatts, toward a target of 2.3 gigawatts of Nvidia capacity by 2029 [1].
  • The power base includes five AiOnX campuses in Ireland, the UK, Denmark, Spain and Italy, one already leased to a large cloud provider [2][4].
  • SWI Digital, the former cryptominer Genesis Digital Assets, adds 15 data centers in the US and Sweden with 1.3 gigawatts of power available for conversion [3].
  • SWI did not say how the $1 billion order is financed [1][2].

Nvidia supplies the systems, networking and reference designs for every SWI Compute site, with Delta Computers as systems integrator [1]. The first 30-megawatt UK phase is expected online by the end of 2027, and the next generation of European campuses is scheduled to start coming online in Q4 2027 [1].
