Acurx Pharmaceuticals, Inc.ACXPHealth Care

Develops selective-spectrum antibiotics, led by ibezapolstat for C. difficile infection and a preclinical systemic-infection series. It is a pre-revenue, founder-led developer that relies on outsourced clinical and manufacturing work while preparing its lead candidate for late-stage testing.

Develops selective-spectrum small-molecule antibiotics that inhibit bacterial DNA polymerase IIIC. Its lead candidate, ibezapolstat, is an oral treatment in development for Clostridioides difficile infection; a completed mid-stage trial supports a planned international late-stage study. The company also runs a pilot for multiply recurrent infection and a preclinical Pol IIIC series for systemic Gram-positive infections.

Operates through a small Staten Island team that outsources clinical, manufacturing and specialist work. Lead-study work has occurred at U.S. centers, the planned program draws on U.S. and EU regulatory input, and structural research includes a Netherlands university partnership.

Has no approved products or product revenue. Commercialization depends on financing, clinical results, regulatory approval, third-party execution and a sole disclosed supplier for drug substance and finished drug product.
