Profile

Adeia Inc.ADEAInformation Technology

Licenses media patents for content discovery, streaming, personalization, advertising, computer vision, and related services, plus semiconductor IP for hybrid bonding, advanced packaging, processing, and cooling. Revenue comes from fixed, usage-based, per-subscriber, and per-unit agreements, with media generating most sales.

Licenses patented media and semiconductor technologies through a single IP Licensing segment. The media portfolio covers content guidance, discovery, search, recommendations, multiscreen delivery, personalization, data analytics, advertising, computer vision, storage, and high-performance computing. Customers include pay-TV and streaming providers, consumer-electronics makers, social-media platforms, and e-commerce businesses, primarily in North America with international licensees.

Develops most of its patent estate internally and supplements it with targeted acquisitions. Semiconductor IP spans DBI hybrid bonding, advanced packaging and process nodes, thermal management, microLEDs, and design-process-system co-optimization for memory, logic, sensor, radio-frequency, and foundry customers.

Earns recurring and deal-driven revenue through per-subscriber, per-unit, usage-based, fixed-fee, and minimum-guarantee licenses. Patent validity, changing IP law, customer renewals, and enforcement shape licensing outcomes; litigation is used when unlicensed users do not enter license agreements.

A 13F quarter can total more than the shares outstanding — sub-advisers file the same block twice, and a filer's own share count can be a quarter stale. No split is drawn from it.
