Profile
Combines U.S. financial planning, managed accounts, brokerage and banking with RiverSource annuities and insurance and Columbia Threadneedle’s global asset management. Fees depend heavily on client asset values and flows, while the advisor network also distributes proprietary retirement and protection products.
Provides financial planning, managed accounts, brokerage, banking and cash services through a nationwide network of employee and franchise advisors. Advice & Wealth Management is the core U.S. channel; RiverSource annuities and life and disability insurance add retirement-income and protection products distributed largely through that network.
Manages active equity, fixed-income, multi-asset and alternative strategies globally through Columbia Threadneedle Investments for retail and institutional clients. Scale comes from an integrated advisor platform and product set, while fees rise and fall with client asset values and flows. Banking, brokerage, asset management and insurance operations face separate capital, conduct and fiduciary rules, and annuity guarantees require ongoing hedging.

Ownership
A 13F quarter can total more than the shares outstanding — sub-advisers file the same block twice, and a filer's own share count can be a quarter stale. No split is drawn from it.
