Profile

Bionano Genomics, Inc.BNGOHealth Care

Sells optical genome mapping systems, recurring chips and reagents, analysis software, sample-purification tools and limited laboratory services. The model increasingly depends on utilization of an installed base by research and clinical laboratories, while instrument products are designated for research use only.

Combines optical genome mapping systems—Saphyr and Stratys—with single-use chips, sample-preparation kits and reagents. Labeled, ultra-high-molecular-weight DNA is linearized in nanochannels and imaged to identify large structural variation, a complement to base-by-base sequencing.

Extends the workflow with VIA, Bionano Access, Nexus Copy Number and Compute On Demand for analysis, interpretation and reporting across OGM, sequencing and microarray data. The Ionic system isolates and purifies nucleic acids for OGM and other uses; a San Diego laboratory provides limited OGM testing and data services.

Serves research institutions, clinical laboratories and life-science companies across international markets. Instruments are research-use-only; commercial progress depends on laboratory adoption and use of the installed base, manufacturing partners, evidence, reimbursement pathways for laboratory services and continued regulatory compliance.
