Profile

Boston Scientific CorporationBSXHealth Care

Develops minimally invasive devices for cardiovascular, endoscopic, urological and neurological procedures, earning revenue from sales to hospitals, physicians and other care providers worldwide. Cardiovascular accounts for most sales, led by platforms spanning electrophysiology, left-atrial-appendage closure and interventional cardiology.

Develops and sells minimally invasive medical devices used in cardiovascular and MedSurg procedures. The Cardiovascular segment spans electrophysiology, WATCHMAN left-atrial-appendage closure, cardiac rhythm management, interventional cardiology and vascular therapies, and interventional oncology and embolization. MedSurg covers endoscopy, urology and neuromodulation.

Growth is built around new-product launches and acquired platforms, with FARAPULSE pulsed-field ablation a recent driver. Hospitals, physicians and other healthcare providers purchase the devices, while the United States supplies most sales and international markets provide the balance.

Commercialization depends on clinical evidence, regulatory clearance and country-specific reimbursement. Manufacturing also relies on some custom or single-source components, and medical-device rules govern product design, production, labeling, distribution and post-market monitoring.
