Profile

Century Aluminum CompanyCENXMaterials

Produces standard-grade and value-added primary aluminum at U.S. and Icelandic smelters, supported by alumina from majority-owned Jamalco and carbon anodes from Vlissingen. Revenue tracks exchange-linked metal prices and product premiums, while power costs and concentrated sales to Glencore shape results.

Operates primary aluminum smelters in Kentucky, South Carolina, and Iceland, casting standard-grade ingot, sow, billet, slab, and foundry alloys; Icelandic output also supports the Natur-Al low-carbon line. A majority-owned Jamalco venture mines bauxite and refines alumina in Jamaica, while a Netherlands plant supplies carbon anodes to the Icelandic smelter.

Runs the portfolio as one reportable segment, using value-added casthouses and upstream alumina supply to extend beyond commodity metal. Recent execution has restored curtailed output at Mt. Holly and brought Grundartangi back near full production, while an Oklahoma smelter project is under joint development with Emirates Global Aluminium. Earnings remain tied to exchange-linked aluminum prices, regional and product premiums, power and raw-material costs; sales are concentrated among a few customers, chiefly Glencore.
