Profile
Operates futures and options exchanges across interest rates, equity indexes, currencies, agriculture, energy, metals and cryptocurrencies, alongside BrokerTec fixed-income and EBS foreign-exchange markets. Most revenue comes from transaction and clearing fees, supported by market data subscriptions and benchmark licensing.
Runs futures and options markets through CME, CBOT, NYMEX and COMEX, spanning interest rates, equity indexes, foreign exchange, agriculture, energy, metals and cryptocurrencies. CME Globex handles most electronic trading, while CME Clearing stands between buyers and sellers and manages margin and settlement.
Extends beyond listed derivatives through BrokerTec for cash government bonds and repo, EBS for spot and over-the-counter foreign exchange, and services for market data, analytics and benchmarks. Pairing benchmark contracts with integrated clearing helps participants manage risk and margin across portfolios.
Earns most revenue from transaction and clearing fees, supplemented by data subscriptions, access fees and benchmark licensing. Trading demand moves with market volatility and hedging activity, while regulated exchanges, clearing houses and cash-market venues operate across the United States, United Kingdom and European Union.

A 13F quarter can total more than the shares outstanding — sub-advisers file the same block twice, and a filer's own share count can be a quarter stale. No split is drawn from it.
