Profile

CoreCivic, Inc.CXWReal Estate

Manages U.S. correctional, detention, and residential reentry facilities under government contracts, and sells pharmacy, transport, electronic-monitoring, and case-management services to the corrections market. Facility management generates most revenue, while specialized properties add lease income and federal agencies account for roughly half.

Manages correctional, immigration-detention, and residential reentry facilities for U.S. federal, state, and local agencies through CoreCivic Residential. CoreCivic Services supplies mail-order pharmacy, secure transportation, electronic monitoring, and case management to the corrections market, while CoreCivic Properties leases specialized facilities to government agencies.

Combines a nationwide operating network with owned and leased capacity, staffing, healthcare support, transport, rehabilitation programs, and the ability to reactivate idle sites. Recent detention-property sales to the federal government reduced ownership without ending current management contracts. Federal customers—principally Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the U.S. Marshals Service—provide roughly half of revenue. Contract awards, appropriations, occupancy, staffing, and compliance determine utilization; ICE may terminate contracts for convenience or unavailable funding.
