Profile

eBay Inc.EBAYConsumer Discretionary

Operates third-party marketplaces that connect buyers and sellers across general merchandise and focus categories such as vehicle parts, collectibles, refurbished goods, luxury items and fashion. Revenue comes mainly from transaction commissions, with advertising and shipping fees adding to the model; Depop extends the portfolio through a distinct fashion-resale platform.

Connects buyers and sellers through the eBay marketplace, localized sites and apps, while Depop adds a separately branded fashion-resale platform. Marketplace commissions on paid transactions provide the core revenue, supplemented by seller-funded Promoted Listings advertising and shipping fees.

Pairs broad inventory with category-specific tools for vehicle parts, collectibles, refurbished goods, apparel, luxury items and sneakers. Those tools include parts fitment data, trading-card grading and resale, live shopping and item authentication. International activity, especially in the United Kingdom and Germany and through cross-border sales from Greater China, generates nearly half of revenue.

Results depend on attracting both sides of the marketplace, maintaining payments systems, authentication providers and delivery carriers, and complying with marketplace, product-safety, tax, data and payments rules across jurisdictions.
