Profile

Joby Aviation, Inc.JOBYIndustrials

Develops piloted electric air taxis, runs helicopter and fixed-wing passenger bookings through Blade, and serves defense customers. Revenue comes mainly from conventional passenger flights and government operations while the vertically integrated eVTOL platform remains in FAA type certification.

Develops and manufactures a piloted, all-electric eVTOL aircraft for urban air-taxi networks, while operating conventional helicopter and fixed-wing passenger services through Blade. Defense work covers customer-directed flights, on-base operations, and autonomous or hybrid demonstrations; H2FLY develops hydrogen-electric fuel-cell systems. Engineering services supplement these lines.

Vertically integrates aircraft design, component engineering, manufacturing, charging, operating software, and preparations for flight operations and maintenance. Production and testing are centered in California, with high-rate manufacturing planned in Ohio. Routes to market combine directly operated services, local operating affiliates, and aircraft sales across the United States, Middle East, Europe, and Asia.

The core eVTOL remains in FAA type certification despite existing air-carrier, repair-station, and flight-school certificates. Scaling depends on completing aircraft and production certification, expanding manufacturing, and securing operating and landing-site approvals in each market.
