Specialty auto and life insurance are provided under the Kemper Auto and Kemper Life brands. The portfolio serves individuals, families, and businesses with affordable, easy-to-use personalized insurance solutions.
Agents and brokers represent the distribution model, connecting the brands with policyholders. The model centers on insurance products sold through that external distribution network.
Operations have been refocused around specialty auto and life products after the exit from Preferred Property & Casualty. The former Newins captive-agent and storefront distribution operation was sold to Confie.
The public holding company began as a Teledyne spin-off in 1990 and adopted the Kemper name in 2011. Its current business structure depends on agent and broker distribution alongside the Kemper Auto and Kemper Life brands.

Ownership
A 13F quarter can total more than the shares outstanding — sub-advisers file the same block twice, and a filer's own share count can be a quarter stale. No split is drawn from it.
