LIXTE Biotechnology is a clinical-stage cancer therapy company centered on LB-100, a PP2A inhibitor studied with chemotherapy and immunotherapy. After acquiring a majority stake in Liora Technologies, it also added an electronically controlled proton therapy platform.
LIXTE Biotechnology Holdings develops oncology treatments around LB-100, a small-molecule inhibitor of protein phosphatase 2A. The company describes LB-100 as a way to make tumor cells more vulnerable to chemotherapy, immune checkpoint therapy, and other cancer treatments, while its current clinical work focuses on ovarian clear cell carcinoma, metastatic microsatellite-stable colorectal cancer, and advanced soft tissue sarcoma.
The ovarian program combines LB-100 with dostarlimab through MD Anderson and Northwestern, and the colorectal study combines LB-100 with atezolizumab through the Netherlands Cancer Institute with Roche support. LIXTE also owns most of Liora Technologies Europe, which is developing the LiGHT electronically controlled proton therapy system. The business remains development-stage, so progress depends on clinical results, regulatory review, partner support, and continued access to capital.
