Profile

MiMedx Group, Inc.MDXGHealth Care

Turns donated placental and umbilical tissue into allografts for wound care and surgical use, marketed under brands such as EpiFix and AmnioFix and processed through proprietary PURION technology. Sales are concentrated in the United States and priced largely against Medicare fee schedules, with Japan the lead international market.

Processes donated placental membrane, umbilical cord, and placental-disc tissue into allografts for wound and surgical care, sold under brands including EpiFix, AmnioFix, EpiCord, and the newer Heliogen xenograft line, all built on proprietary PURION tissue processing.

A 2018 accounting scandal triggered a Nasdaq delisting and the eventual criminal conviction of the founding CEO; a rebuilt leadership team restored internal controls and returned to Nasdaq trading in 2020. Newer surgical-line launches now sit alongside the original wound-care franchise.

Domestic sales make up substantially all of the top line, with Japan established as the lead international market after EpiFix became the first amniotic wound-care tissue product approved there. Products are regulated by the FDA as human tissue allografts, exempt from premarket clinical trials but priced largely off Medicare fee schedules.
