Profile
Operates more than 1,100 tire and undercar-repair stores across a cluster of regional banners including Mr. Tire, Tire Choice and Car-X, selling replacement tires, brake and exhaust work, and routine maintenance under a single reported operating segment.
Runs a chain of more than 1,100 tire and undercar-repair stores concentrated in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Great Lakes, with a Southeast presence and a Los Angeles foothold.
Sells replacement tires and tire services alongside undercar repair — brakes, mufflers, steering, suspension and alignment — plus routine maintenance, through regional banners such as Mr. Tire, Tire Choice, Tire Warehouse and Ken Towery's, plus a smaller Car-X franchise network, all reported as one segment.
Grew through acquisitions of well-run regional chains since the late 1990s, keeping acquired brands intact. A chief executive appointed in 2025 closed underperforming stores and paused acquisitions to sharpen operating discipline, ending a multi-year comparable-sales slide.
Results track tire tariff costs, technician labor inflation, miles driven and consumer spending, with weather adding swings. An activist investor built a stake near one-seventh of shares outstanding by late 2025.

Ownership
A 13F quarter can total more than the shares outstanding — sub-advisers file the same block twice, and a filer's own share count can be a quarter stale. No split is drawn from it.
