Profile
Sells oil, refined fuels, natural gas, electricity and related products through an integrated Brazilian upstream, refining, logistics and trading system, with exports extending its market reach. Deepwater and ultra-deepwater pre-salt production is central, while federal control shapes governance and strategic direction.
Produces offshore oil and gas, then channels much of its crude through Brazilian refineries before selling diesel, gasoline, jet fuel, LPG, crude and natural gas. Its operating lines are Exploration & Production; Refining, Transportation & Marketing; and Gas & Low Carbon Energies, which also trades electricity and LNG.
Operates predominantly in Brazil while selling into export markets, with trading teams in Houston, Singapore, Buenos Aires and Rotterdam. Deepwater and ultra-deepwater engineering, including pre-salt development, underpins the operating model alongside refinery, pipeline, shipping and terminal logistics. Brazil's federal government controls a majority of voting shares. The preferred ADR represents two underlying preferred shares, which ordinarily lack voting rights except on protected matters.
