Profile

Park Aerospace Corp.PKEIndustrials

Makes advanced composite prepreg materials, ablatives, radomes, and low-volume composite structures for aerospace and space programs from a single Kansas manufacturing site, having re-emerged as a pure-play aerospace specialist after selling its longtime electronics-materials business. Sales concentrate around subtier suppliers linked to a small number of large jet-engine and propulsion programs.

Designs and manufactures advanced composite prepreg materials, ablatives, radomes, and low-volume composite structures for aerospace and space programs, produced almost entirely at a single site in Newton, Kansas.

The business traces to 1954 as a printed-circuit-materials maker; it sold that longtime electronics operation in 2018 and re-emerged the following year as a dedicated aerospace-materials specialist.

The same executive has run the company since the mid-1990s and chaired the board since the mid-2000s, spanning the divestiture and the pivot that followed. Sales concentrate around subtier suppliers to a small number of large jet-engine and space programs, anchored by customers tied to GE Aerospace and Aerojet Rocketdyne.

The company carries no long-term debt and has a long-running practice of returning cash to shareholders through regular and special dividends, funding capacity expansion without new borrowing.
