Profile

Planet Labs PBCPLIndustrials

Licenses near-daily PlanetScope imagery, high-resolution tasking, hyperspectral data, and analytics through a cloud platform, while also building and operating satellites for government and enterprise customers. Its repeatable data-licensing model is complemented by longer-term satellite-services contracts and depends on continued constellation replenishment.

Images Earth's landmass near-daily with the PlanetScope monitoring constellation, while Pelican and SkySat support high-resolution tasking and Tanager supplies hyperspectral measurements. The Planet Insights Platform and Sentinel Hub deliver imagery, basemaps, derived variables, APIs, and AI-enabled analytics to commercial, civil-government, and defense customers worldwide.

Designs, builds, and operates compact satellites, creating a frequently refreshed archive that can be licensed repeatedly through subscription and usage contracts. Satellite Services adds customer-owned spacecraft, dedicated capacity, mission engineering, launch procurement, ground infrastructure, and operations. This vertically integrated manufacturing-and-data model shortens the path from spacecraft design to usable intelligence. Execution depends on replenishing constellations, third-party launches, cloud hosting, remote-sensing licenses, export controls, and renewing annual or multi-year customer agreements.
