Underwrites homeowners insurance in Texas, Illinois, and Indiana through a single independent MGA, earning premiums and investment income while using quota-share and catastrophe reinsurance. Commercial Lines are in runoff, leaving the operating business concentrated in Personal Lines.
Underwrites homeowners insurance through its Personal Lines segment in Texas, Illinois, and Indiana. Premiums are generally earned evenly across annual policy terms, supplemented by investment income. Commercial Lines have stopped writing new business and remain in runoff, carrying claims, reserve, and operating-expense obligations from the legacy book.
Routes all active homeowners sales through Sycamore Specialty Underwriters, its sole independent managing general agent. The operating model applies documented practices of controlled underwriting, active pricing and product monitoring, and third-party claims administration under company oversight; much of the underwriting support, systems, billing, collections, and claims services is outsourced.
Depends on reinsurance for homeowners economics and catastrophe protection while remaining directly liable to policyholders. State regulation and statutory capital requirements apply across the active markets; SSU controls retail and wholesale agent relationships and may place the homeowners business with another insurer.
