Profile

ProKidney Corp.PROKHealth Care

Develops rilparencel, an autologous cell therapy in pivotal testing for advanced chronic kidney disease and type 2 diabetes. The program combines clinical development with manufacturing and quality operations, rather than marketed-product sales.

Rilparencel, also called REACT, is an autologous cell therapy in the PROACT 1 pivotal study for people with advanced chronic kidney disease and type 2 diabetes. The randomized, blinded, sham-controlled study evaluates a targeted patient population.

The program focuses on a U.S. registration pathway after discontinuing the overseas-focused PROACT 2. Rilparencel has FDA RMAT designation, and FDA alignment identifies eGFR slope in PROACT 1 as a potential surrogate endpoint for an accelerated-approval BLA submission.

Operations are development- and manufacturing-intensive rather than built around a marketed product. More than half of employees work in manufacturing, operations, or quality roles.

Rilparencel remains in clinical development. Its pathway depends on completing PROACT 1, the eGFR-slope result, and FDA action.
