Profile

Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.RCLConsumer Discretionary

Sells contemporary, premium and ultra-luxury vacations through Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises and Silversea, earning mainly from passenger fares plus onboard purchases. Private destinations, a half-owned German cruise venture and Celebrity’s planned river fleet extend a capital-intensive cruise platform.

Runs three wholly owned vacation brands: Royal Caribbean serves the contemporary family and premium markets, Celebrity Cruises targets premium travelers, and Silversea covers ultra-luxury and expedition voyages. A half-owned TUI Cruises venture operates Mein Schiff and Hapag-Lloyd Cruises for German-speaking guests.

Earns primarily from passenger fares, supplemented by onboard goods and services. Ships sail worldwide, while most global-brand guests come from North America. Private destinations, loyalty programs and technology connect booking, onboard spending and repeat travel; Celebrity is also extending into European river cruising.

Manages the brands as one reportable segment and invests heavily in new ships and destination infrastructure. Operations depend on discretionary travel demand, port access, shipyard delivery, fuel and foreign-exchange costs, and maritime, health and environmental regulation.
