Profile

Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc.RGRIndustrials

Sells rifles, pistols, revolvers, shotguns, accessories, and replacement parts through independent wholesale distributors, with Marlin and Glenfield adding rifle lines. Firearms account for virtually all sales, while a small castings and MIM operation supports internal production and third-party customers.

Manufactures commercial firearms through the Firearms segment, including Ruger rifles, pistols, revolvers, and shotguns, plus Marlin lever-action rifles and Glenfield bolt-action rifles. Accessories and replacement parts round out the portfolio, while Castings makes steel investment castings and MIM parts for internal use and outside customers.

Operations are centered in the United States, with manufacturing facilities across several states. Sales run mainly through federally licensed independent wholesale distributors into the U.S. commercial sporting market, with exports a small part of firearms sales.

Execution depends on product innovation, quality, availability, brand, and price in an intensely competitive firearms market. Demand is sensitive to social, political, macroeconomic, and legislative conditions, and product-safety bulletins or recalls remain part of the operating backdrop.
