Profile
Earns nearly all revenue from month-to-month self-storage rentals, related fees and ancillary services across a U.S. portfolio. A smaller third-party management service provides operating support to outside owners, while occupancy and lease-rate management drive the core rental business.
Operates a U.S. portfolio of self-storage facilities under the Global Self Storage brand, offering climate-controlled and traditional drive-up units plus outdoor vehicle and recreational-vehicle parking. Rental operations produce nearly all revenue through principally month-to-month leases, related fees, storage-supply sales and customer insurance; a third-party property-management service earns fees based on property revenue collected.
Focuses acquisition and redevelopment efforts on properties and portfolios in supply-constrained secondary and tertiary markets across the Midwest, Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, alongside locations in South Carolina and Oklahoma. Occupancy and revenue per leased square foot are managed through move-in pricing, tenant rate management, competitor-rate data and digital, drive-by and referral marketing.
Operates within a fragmented field of national, regional and local storage owners, operators and developers. Performance depends on occupancy, local rental rates, access to acquisition financing, and property-level exposures including zoning, redevelopment, taxes and natural disasters.
