Taitron Components supplies original designed and manufactured electronic components and also distributes brand-name parts. Its customer base includes OEMs, contract electronic manufacturers, and electronics distributors, with support functions in Taiwan and China.
Taitron Components is a Valencia, California-based supplier of original designed and manufactured electronic components, alongside a continuing distribution business for brand-name parts such as discrete semiconductors, optoelectronic devices, passive components, and commodity integrated circuits. The company works mainly with OEMs and contract electronic manufacturers on custom, multi-year turn-key projects, using engineering support in China and sourcing support from Taiwan and China while distributing from its California facility.
Management says its strategy has shifted away from actively selling broad superstore inventory and toward ODM products designed for specific applications, while remaining inventory is sold more passively online. The business depends on outsourced manufacturing partners and Asian component supply, and it faces competition from larger distributors, ODM providers, and customers' in-house manufacturing capabilities.
