Profile
Provides global wealth management, Swiss personal and corporate banking, asset management and investment banking. Its wealth-centered model combines international client reach with a home-market universal bank, while the Credit Suisse integration adds scale, legacy positions and regulatory complexity.
Serves wealthy clients globally through Global Wealth Management, while Personal & Corporate Banking covers private, corporate and institutional customers in Switzerland. Asset Management and the Investment Bank add investment capabilities, financing and market access.
Runs a wealth-centered, client-focused model shaped after the financial crisis, with Swiss banking at its core and a smaller investment bank linked to client needs. The PaineWebber acquisition built its US wealth-distribution base, extending a lineage assembled from hundreds of firms.
Credit Suisse's acquisition expanded wealth, Swiss banking and asset management while adding Non-core and Legacy positions for wind-down. Operational integration remains in progress, alongside inherited litigation and regulatory matters and Swiss too-big-to-fail requirements.
