Profile
The company sells a cloud-to-edge commerce platform combining point-of-sale, self-checkout, payments, and kitchen and back-office software across two segments, Retail and Restaurants, with recurring software and services revenue now outweighing one-time hardware sales.
Two segments anchor the business: Retail, spanning convenience and fuel, grocery, and department and specialty stores; and Restaurants, covering quick-service, table-service, and fast-casual dining. Both run on one cloud-to-edge platform pairing point-of-sale and self-checkout hardware with kitchen, back-office, and loyalty software.
Recurring software, services, and payments revenue now outweighs one-time hardware sales, with hardware itself shifted to a net-commission arrangement with a manufacturing partner. Operations span roughly thirty countries, concentrated mainly in the United States.
The company traces to a Dayton, Ohio cash-register maker founded in 1884, later spun off from its former parent's ATM business and separated from its digital-banking unit to sharpen focus on shopping and dining technology.
A data-center ransomware incident and a separate episode of fraudulent electronic disbursements are still working through insurance-recovery and cost-recoupment.

A 13F quarter can total more than the shares outstanding — sub-advisers file the same block twice, and a filer's own share count can be a quarter stale. No split is drawn from it.
