Profile

Amplitude, Inc.AMPLInformation Technology

Sells a subscription platform built around a database of customer behavior events, used by product and growth teams to analyze usage, replay sessions, run experiments, and trigger in-app guidance. The product line has broadened from a single analytics tool into a connected suite spanning experimentation, activation, and AI-assisted query.

Began in 2012 as a voice-to-text messaging app before its founders pivoted to the internal analytics tooling they had built to understand their own users, renaming the company in 2014 around that behavioral-data product.

The platform now spans analytics, session replay, feature experimentation, and identity-resolution and activation tools, plus natural-language query and data-quality features layered on more recently. All of it sits inside one reportable software segment, sold mainly by subscription through direct sales and product-led signups.

Revenue concentrates in a comparatively small set of large accounts, and a substantial share is generated outside the US. Competing offerings bundled into broader marketing and analytics suites, including free tiers, price against it at both ends of the market.

Listed on Nasdaq through a direct listing rather than an underwritten offering, carrying founder-favored dual-class stock into public markets.
