Profile

American Water Works Company, Inc.AWKUtilities

Provides regulated drinking-water and wastewater services to residential, commercial, industrial and public customers across the United States, earning most revenue through state-regulated utilities. A smaller Military Services Group operates water and wastewater systems under long-term federal contracts.

Owns and operates regulated drinking-water and wastewater utilities across 14 U.S. states, serving residential, commercial, industrial and public customers. Its systems treat and distribute water, then collect and treat wastewater. Regulated utilities generate most revenue; Pennsylvania and New Jersey are the largest jurisdictions.

Growth comes from renewing infrastructure, connecting customers within existing service areas and acquiring additional systems. Consolidated tariffs and shared operations help integrate those systems. The Military Services Group separately operates water and wastewater networks at military installations under long-term federal contracts.

Rates, acquisitions and recovery of infrastructure spending depend on state utility commissions, while drinking-water and discharge rules shape operations. A pending stock-for-stock merger with Essential Utilities remains subject to regulatory approvals; if completed, Essential would become a subsidiary while the surviving parent retains its name and Camden headquarters.

A 13F quarter can total more than the shares outstanding — sub-advisers file the same block twice, and a filer's own share count can be a quarter stale. No split is drawn from it.
