Profile
Sells value-priced apparel, shoes, accessories, jewelry, and handbags through Cato, It’s Fashion, and Versona stores and e-commerce. Retail is paired with a proprietary credit operation, while the compact-store network is concentrated in the Southeast.
Private-label merchandise produced by outside vendors to company specifications is sold through Cato/Cato Fashions/Cato Plus, It’s Fashion/It’s Fashion Metro, and Versona. Retail combines the three banners and e-commerce; Credit authorizes proprietary-card transactions, processes payments, and conducts collections.
Most stores are in strip shopping centers, with Versona in lifestyle and power centers, across a primarily Southeastern footprint. Execution in its markets depends on fashion and value, store locations, service, merchandise presentation, merchandise demand, and inventory management. Store performance and closures, adverse weather, public-health and geopolitical conditions, competition, and financial-market conditions also shape the business.
