Profile
Provides deposit accounts, residential and commercial real estate loans, business credit, and related financial services through Columbia Bank. Earns mainly from the spread on loans and securities funded by deposits and borrowings, with an expanded New Jersey and New York City branch network and a real-estate-heavy loan book.
Operates Columbia Bank, a federally chartered savings bank serving consumers and businesses through 100-plus offices across New Jersey, Staten Island, and Brooklyn. Core products include checking and savings accounts, residential mortgages, multifamily and commercial real estate loans, construction and commercial business credit, and home-equity lending. Cash management, wealth management, title and settlement, and insurance services add fee income.
Builds customer relationships through local branches, regional lending teams, and digital banking, using deposits and borrowings to fund loans and securities. The completed Northfield acquisition expanded the branch and deposit franchise and brought the bank into New York metropolitan markets; combining operations and systems is now an execution dependency. Earnings are driven mainly by net interest spread, and the holding company depends on dividends from the regulated bank. The combined loan book remains weighted toward residential, multifamily, and commercial real estate.
