Develops ifetroban across clinical programs for Duchenne muscular dystrophy cardiomyopathy, systemic sclerosis and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Following the sale of its branded pharmaceutical portfolio to Apotex, it retains product candidates and a majority interest in Cumberland Emerging Technologies.
Built branded prescription medicines through internal development, licensing and acquisitions, including Acetadote, Kristalose, Vibativ, Sancuso and Talicia. That commercial portfolio was sold to Apotex in July 2026, shifting the active focus away from those medicines.
Current development centers on ifetroban, a thromboxane antagonist in clinical programs for cardiomyopathy associated with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, systemic sclerosis and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. The retained pipeline makes clinical development and regulatory progress central to the operating model.
Cumberland also retains a majority interest in Cumberland Emerging Technologies, a joint initiative with Vanderbilt University and the state of Tennessee supporting early-stage life-sciences programs and companies.
