Profile

Charles River Laboratories International, Inc.CRLHealth Care

Sells research models and related services, performs outsourced discovery and regulated nonclinical safety studies, and supplies microbial and biologics quality-control testing. Most revenue comes from services, with the portfolio now refocused on regulated testing after divesting CDMO, Cell Solutions, and selected European discovery operations.

Supplies research models and related services, runs outsourced discovery and safety studies, and provides manufacturing quality-control testing across its reporting segments: Research Models and Services, Discovery and Safety Assessment, and Manufacturing Solutions. The latter houses Microbial Solutions and Biologics Testing Solutions following recent divestitures of CDMO, Cell Solutions, and selected European discovery sites.

Serves pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, government agencies, hospitals, and academic institutions through operations spanning North America, Europe, and Asia. Controlled model production, animal-health monitoring, regulated study execution, bioanalysis, and microbial and biologics testing let clients outsource work from early discovery through nonclinical development and product release.

Animal-welfare and laboratory regulations govern much of the work, while safety-assessment capacity depends partly on a compliant, timely supply of non-human primates.
