Profile
Develops CRISPR-based medicines for blood disorders alongside in vivo editing, allogeneic CAR T, siRNA, and regenerative-medicine programs. CASGEVY is the approved commercial anchor; Vertex controls its global development, manufacturing, and commercialization under a profit-and-cost-sharing collaboration.
Develops gene-based medicines through CRISPR/Cas9 editing and related technologies. CASGEVY, an ex vivo edited-cell therapy for sickle cell disease and transfusion-dependent beta thalassemia, is the approved commercial product and is partnered with Vertex.
The pipeline spans liver-directed in vivo editing through CTX310, CTX340, and CTX460; zugo-cel, an allogeneic CAR T candidate for autoimmune disease and blood cancers; CTX611, an siRNA candidate for clotting disorders; and CTX213, a beta-cell replacement candidate for diabetes. Lipid-nanoparticle delivery, SyNTase editing, and an internal cell-therapy manufacturing facility support these programs.
Operates as a single genome-editing therapeutics segment, with headquarters in Switzerland and research operations in the United States. Clinical progress depends on regulatory review, complex manufacturing, and intellectual-property rights. Vertex controls global development, manufacturing, and commercialization of CASGEVY under the collaboration agreement.
