Provides deposit and lending services through Everett Co-operative Bank across a handful of branches north of Boston. Converted from a depositor-owned mutual to a public company in 2022, and has used the proceeds to shift lending away from residential mortgages toward commercial real estate and multifamily loans.
Operates Everett Co-operative Bank, a Massachusetts-chartered co-operative bank organized in 1890 to provide home financing in its namesake city. For most of its history the bank operated as a mutual institution owned by depositors, with lending concentrated in residential mortgages.
Converted to full stock form in 2022, raising capital that funds a shift toward commercial real estate and multifamily lending, alongside new commercial-credit staff and expanded business deposit and cash-management products aimed at attracting business customers.
Runs three full-service branches concentrated in Everett, Lynnfield, and Woburn north of Boston, competing on personal service against larger money-center and regional banks. The bank is regulated by the FDIC and the Massachusetts Division of Banks, with the holding company supervised by the Federal Reserve as a savings-and-loan holding company.
