Profile

Corning IncorporatedGLWInformation Technology

Sells optical fiber and connectivity, display and device glass, automotive ceramics and glass, and solar silicon products, with smaller life-sciences and pharmaceutical-glass operations. Demand follows infrastructure, electronics, vehicle, and solar markets, while each business depends on a relatively small set of end customers.

Builds specialty glass, ceramics, optical-fiber components, and silicon products through four reportable segments. Optical Communications supplies fiber, cable, and connectivity for carrier, enterprise, and hyperscale data-center networks. Glass Innovations combines display substrates, Gorilla Glass cover materials, and precision optics; Automotive makes emissions-control ceramics and vehicle glass; Solar produces polysilicon, wafers, and modules. Life-sciences labware and pharmaceutical glass sit within a smaller emerging-growth group.

Proprietary glass-forming and strengthening processes, optical-fiber design, and large-scale manufacturing support products sold worldwide. Production spans 14 countries, while display-glass operations are concentrated in China, South Korea, and Taiwan and Solar manufactures in the United States.

Demand depends on carrier and hyperscale data-center capital spending, electronics and vehicle markets, emissions rules, and solar-policy incentives. Each business also relies on a relatively small number of end customers.

A 13F quarter can total more than the shares outstanding — sub-advisers file the same block twice, and a filer's own share count can be a quarter stale. No split is drawn from it.
