Profile

Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc.HIIIndustrials

Builds and sustains nuclear-powered aircraft carriers and submarines through Newport News, while Ingalls produces amphibious assault ships and guided-missile destroyers. Mission Technologies provides C5ISR, cyber, training, modernization, nuclear operations, and unmanned systems; revenue comes almost entirely from U.S. federal contracts, chiefly Navy programs.

Builds and sustains nuclear and non-nuclear warships while supplying mission technologies to U.S. and allied defense customers. Newport News Shipbuilding is the sole builder and refueler of U.S. nuclear-powered aircraft carriers and shares submarine construction. Ingalls Shipbuilding handles non-nuclear design, construction, repair, and maintenance, centered on amphibious assault ships and guided-missile destroyers.

Mission Technologies provides C5ISR, artificial intelligence, cyber and electronic warfare, training, fleet modernization, nuclear operations, and unmanned systems. Specialized shipyards in Virginia and Mississippi combine nuclear expertise with large-scale integration, while technical operations extend across the United States and internationally.

Revenue comes almost entirely from federal contracts, chiefly U.S. Navy programs. Execution depends on congressional appropriations, Navy procurement schedules, skilled industrial labor, approved suppliers, cost control on multi-year contracts, and nuclear-safety regulation.
