Operates through Precise Time and Frequency (PTF), its wholly owned designer and manufacturer of high-performance frequency and time-reference standards. PTF's GNSS/GPS and standalone-oscillator references, time standards, network time servers, and signal-distribution equipment support satellite communications, network synchronization, electricity distribution, metrology, broadcasting and test applications. It sells primarily to original-equipment manufacturers, often engineering application-specific configurations, through direct sales and representatives or distributors.
Complements that operating business with Merchant Investment, which makes investments through vehicles and Lynch Capital International and may earn investment income, transaction gains or losses, management fees and performance incentives. Capital allocation centers on undervalued businesses and securities, including minority holdings, control transactions and strategic combinations. Operating results depend on the single PTF product line, a concentrated customer base and the availability of limited-source components; investment activity is structured to avoid investment-company status.
