Profile

Microchip Technology IncorporatedMCHPInformation Technology

Sells microcontrollers, analog chips, FPGAs, memory, connectivity and data-center components, plus development tools and embedded-memory licenses, to industrial, automotive, aerospace and defense, communications and computing customers. It combines in-house fabrication, assembly and test operations with outsourced manufacturing.

Designs and sells mixed-signal microcontrollers and microprocessors, analog chips, FPGAs, memory, connectivity and timing devices, and data-center components; it also licenses SuperFlash embedded-memory technology. Hardware is paired with software, development tools and technical support so customers can source more of a design from one portfolio.

Serves industrial, automotive, aerospace and defense, communications, consumer-appliance and data-center customers across the Americas, Europe and Asia. Broad product families and compatible tools support design reuse and migration within the portfolio.

Combines owned U.S. wafer fabs and internal assembly and test operations with outsourced production. Results depend on distributor channels, short-lead-time orders, foundry and supplier capacity, and maintaining utilization and manufacturing yields.

A 13F quarter can total more than the shares outstanding — sub-advisers file the same block twice, and a filer's own share count can be a quarter stale. No split is drawn from it.
