Profile

LSI Industries Inc.LYTSIndustrials

Designs and manufactures LED lighting fixtures and controls for commercial and outdoor settings, and builds retail-branding displays — signage, menu boards, millwork, and refrigerated cases — for chains in fuel retailing, quick-service dining, and grocery. The display business has grown to represent more than half of sales, mostly through acquisition of fixture and graphics makers.

Began in 1976 as a lighting supplier to newly self-service gas stations near Cincinnati. Now operates two segments: Lighting, LED fixtures and controls for commercial use, and Display Solutions, which makes signage, menu boards, millwork, and refrigerated cases for retail brands.

Both segments serve the same multi-site chains — fuel and convenience stores, quick-service restaurants, grocery and retail, parking, and warehouses — mostly in the United States.

Manufacturing is vertically integrated across dozens of plants, bundling lighting, graphics, fixtures, and installation into one vendor relationship. Growth has leaned on acquisition, adding graphics, store-fixture, and millwork capability onto the original lighting base.

Revenue tracks refresh and rollout cycles at large retail and fuel-retailing chains rather than new construction, concentrating exposure in a small set of verticals. Listed on NASDAQ in 1985 and employs roughly 2,000 people across its plants.
