Profile

Main Street Capital CorporationMAINFinancials

Provides customized long-term debt and equity capital to lower middle market companies, while its Private Loan strategy provides secured debt to sponsor-backed private companies. The internally managed BDC also earns management and performance-linked fees through external asset management.

Provides customized long-term debt and equity capital to lower middle market companies. The Lower Middle Market strategy supports management buyouts, recapitalizations, growth financings, refinancings and acquisitions.

The Private Loan strategy primarily provides secured debt to privately held companies that are owned by, or being acquired by, private-equity funds.

Employees are hired directly under the internally managed BDC structure, which means investment and portfolio-management operating costs are borne internally rather than paid as external advisory fees. External asset management earns management fees and can earn incentive fees or carried interest.

Personnel and infrastructure are shared with the External Investment Manager. Its operating model depends on investment personnel and on underwriting and monitoring privately held portfolio companies.
