Profile
Designs and manufactures engineered electronic components — user-interface switches, sensor systems, LED lighting, and power-distribution products — sold mainly to automotive and industrial-equipment manufacturers. Sales are concentrated in the vehicle-electrification shift, which built its lighting business through acquisitions and later drove a stretch of operational and leadership turmoil.
Engineers and manufactures user-interface switches, sensor systems, LED lighting, and power-distribution hardware for vehicle and industrial-equipment builders. Automotive and industrial customers make up most of sales, spanning passenger and commercial vehicles, off-road equipment, and safety-control products such as radio remote controls.
Lighting became the largest product line through acquisitions covering automotive, commercial-vehicle, and off-road LED systems, layered onto a switch-and-sensor business that traces back to the founding in 1946.
Operations span more than a dozen countries across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, including manufacturing in Mexico serving vehicle assembly plants.
Demand tracks automotive production and the pace of vehicle electrification; a stretch of operational and accounting problems tied to that transition preceded a change in leadership that took hold in 2024.
