Profile

NextEra Energy, Inc.NEEUtilities

Pairs Florida Power & Light's rate-regulated electric utility with NextEra Energy Resources, which develops and operates contracted wind, solar, nuclear and natural-gas generation, battery storage and transmission across North America. Earnings span regulated rates and wholesale power contracts, while a proposed Dominion Energy merger remains subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals.

Combines Florida Power & Light, a rate-regulated utility serving most of Florida, with NextEra Energy Resources, a competitive energy and regulated transmission business across the United States and Canada. FPL generates, stores, transmits, distributes and sells electricity. NEER develops, builds and operates wind, solar, nuclear and natural-gas generation, battery storage and transmission assets, with most generation supported by long-term contracts.

Pairs a regulated utility's rate-base investment with a project-development platform, sharing an operating model intended to lower costs and create efficiencies. Results and capital deployment depend on Florida regulation, project permits and interconnections, equipment availability, contract performance, financing and clean-energy tax credits. A proposed merger with Dominion Energy would expand the regulated utility footprint, subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals.
