Develops terrestrial positioning, navigation, and timing services that complement GPS, licensing network data and technology to wireless, government, and commercial customers. Pinnacle supplies floor-level altitude, TerraPoiNT provides a prior-generation ground-based signal, and planned NextGen deployment depends on FCC spectrum approval and wireless partners.
Builds terrestrial positioning, navigation, and timing systems that complement GPS. Pinnacle turns barometric readings from devices and a sensor network into floor-level altitude data, delivered through APIs and software kits for emergency calling, public safety, and other applications. The service covers major U.S. markets and is also licensed in Japan.
TerraPoiNT provides a prior-generation ground-based 3D positioning network, while NextGen is being developed to combine positioning and broadband over a 5G New Radio platform. Domestically, access to technology and network-generated data is licensed to wireless carriers, developers, businesses, and government customers; international expansion uses technology-licensing partnerships. NextGen deployment depends on FCC approval to reconfigure Lower 900 MHz spectrum and on agreements with wireless network operators.
