PharmaCyte Biotech, Inc.PMCBHealth Care

Develops CypCaps, an encapsulated-cell candidate designed to activate a cancer prodrug near pancreatic tumors. With no approved products or revenue, operations depend on outsourced research and a sole-source manufacturing partner while the development program remains under FDA clinical hold.

Develops CypCaps, a Cell-in-a-Box-based candidate for locally advanced, inoperable, non-metastatic pancreatic cancer. The cellulose microcapsules are designed to hold genetically engineered cells near a tumor, where they would locally convert the separately administered prodrug ifosfamide into its active form. The company has no approved product or product-sales revenue and reports a research-and-development segment focused on cellular cancer therapies.

Operates from Las Vegas through an outsourced network that includes SG Austria, Austrianova Singapore, and a manufacturing facility in Bangkok. Development spending is curtailed while the board reviews the program and its relationship with SG Austria. Progress depends on lifting the FDA clinical hold, completing the remaining product, delivery-device, and compatibility work, and Austrianova's sole-source encapsulation and manufacturing capabilities.
