Runs GunBroker.com, an online marketplace where independent sellers list firearms, ammunition, and hunting and shooting gear for buyers nationwide. Steven Urvan launched the site in 1999 after eBay stopped hosting firearm auctions, and it has grown into the largest marketplace of its kind.
Revenue comes from fees charged on completed sales plus paid seller upgrades such as featured listings and banner placements, an increasingly high-margin mix. Since divesting its former ammunition-manufacturing operations, the marketplace is the company's sole reportable segment.
Urvan returned as chief executive in 2025 following the settlement of a multi-year ownership dispute, and headquarters moved back to Atlanta, where the marketplace was founded, from Arizona. Firearm transfers are completed through licensed dealers acting as agents, not by the company directly.
