PROCEPT BioRobotics CorporationPRCTHealth Care

Commercializes robotic surgical systems for Aquablation — an autonomous, image-guided waterjet removal of prostate tissue — sold as capital equipment with recurring single-use disposable handpieces. The platform serves benign prostatic hyperplasia today and is in a pivotal randomized trial for localized prostate cancer.

Designs and commercializes robotic systems that deliver Aquablation — an autonomous, heat-free waterjet ablation of prostate tissue guided by real-time ultrasound, with removal geometry set by imaging rather than by surgeon technique.

The platform spans AquaBeam, the first-generation device, and HYDROS, cleared by the FDA in August 2024 with AI-augmented planning. Revenue comes from system placements and recurring single-use disposable handpieces, one consumed per procedure.

Commercial activity is concentrated in the U.S. A pivotal randomized trial comparing Aquablation to radical prostatectomy in localized prostate cancer completed enrollment in May 2026; a second arm compares Aquablation to active surveillance.

Procedure volumes depend on saline supply; a 2024 IV-fluid shortage disrupted a share of procedures. Aquablation received Category I CPT recognition effective January 2026.
