Provides publisher-independent software and transaction services that help researchers discover, license, retrieve and manage scientific literature. Per-article delivery and copyright fees generate most revenue, alongside subscriptions for Article Galaxy and Scite.
Combines Article Galaxy's literature discovery, access, document delivery and reuse-rights workflow with Scite's AI research assistant, citation context and Smart Citations. Article Galaxy References adds shared libraries, notes, annotations and usage controls, while APIs and MCP connections bring search, retrieval and order workflows into compatible AI environments.
Serves corporate R&D and life-science teams, academic institutions, government bodies and individual researchers, with revenue weighted toward the United States and substantial European and other international activity. Its publisher-independent layer connects customer subscriptions and entitlements with open and paywalled content.
Generates most revenue through per-article delivery and copyright fees, alongside cloud subscription platforms. Access depends on publisher permissions and content suppliers, and the business depends on online systems, privacy and AI data-handling requirements.
