Profile
Owns and operates independent-living, assisted-living, and memory-care communities that generate revenue mostly through private pay rather than government programs. Built out of a Texas and Midwest base, the portfolio pivoted toward the Southeast starting in 2024 and roughly doubled in scale after a 2026 merger with a non-traded healthcare REIT.
Owns and operates independent-living, assisted-living, and memory-care communities, with resident fees paid mostly out of pocket rather than through government reimbursement. Recent acquisitions have leaned toward the higher-acuity assisted-living and memory-care segments.
The community base traces to a 1990 Dallas start-up that carried a different name and NYSE ticker until a 2021 recapitalization reset its balance sheet. Growth ran from a Texas and Midwest base, pivoted toward Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina from 2024, and a 2026 merger with a non-traded healthcare REIT stretched the footprint to about 165 communities across dozens of states.
Fannie Mae remains the secured lender behind many legacy community mortgages, and licensing for assisted living and memory care is set state by state rather than federally. Conversant Capital, the investor behind that recapitalization, is the largest shareholder and appoints the board chair.
