Profile

The Ensign Group, Inc.ENSGHealth Care

Provides skilled nursing, rehabilitation and senior living through locally managed subsidiaries, with ancillary diagnostics, transportation and healthcare real estate. Skilled nursing produces most revenue; centralized support serves independent facility leaders, while reimbursement relies heavily on Medicare and Medicaid and most operating sites are leased.

Operates independent subsidiaries providing skilled nursing, post-acute rehabilitation, senior living, mobile diagnostics and medical transportation across western, southern and central U.S. markets. Skilled nursing facilities generate most revenue, serving both short-stay rehabilitation patients and long-term residents.

Combines local facility leadership with centralized accounting, payroll, technology, legal and risk-management support. Growth centers on acquiring and improving healthcare operations, while Standard Bearer Healthcare REIT owns and leases post-acute properties to affiliated and third-party operators.

Revenue depends heavily on Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, alongside state staffing mandates, licensure, inspections and other healthcare regulation. Most operated facilities are leased under long-term arrangements, generally requiring the tenant to bear property taxes, insurance and maintenance.
