Profile
Offers lending, banking, investing and related financial services to consumers while providing payments and core-banking technology to institutions. Its three-segment model combines direct member distribution, a federally supervised bank balance sheet and third-party infrastructure.
Organizes its business into Lending, Financial Services and Technology Platform. Consumer offerings span student-loan refinancing, personal loans, mortgages, banking and investing, while Galileo and Technisys provide payments APIs and core-banking technology to other institutions.
The operating model connects direct member distribution with a nationally chartered bank and third-party financial infrastructure. Its US-centered workforce also supports international operations, and the combined platform grew through product launches and acquisitions beyond the original education-finance business.
Deposit-taking and lending sit within federal bank supervision, including capital, risk-management, fair-treatment and community-reinvestment requirements. Securities and lending activities also depend on advertising, compensation and supervisory controls.
